Residential Construction Mediation

Disputes that arise during a construction project can be very costly, time sensitive and highly technical in nature. The Court cannot always address issues that need immediate attention and it can cost thousands of dollars to get results. Mediation is an invaluable tool which provides timely resolution, at less cost, with no forfeiture of your legal rights, while enabling you to maintain your relationships with contractors, subcontractors and others.

Our residential construction Mediators provide mediation in all aspects of construction, including, but not limited to:

  • Soil and geology issues
  • Sitework issues
  • Landscaping/Irrigation
  • Structural issues
  • Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical
  • Water intrusion issues
  • Mold and asbestos issues
  • Scheduling and delay claims
  • Construction accounting, record keeping and project management procedures
  • Project abandonment
  • Contracts/purchase orders
  • Owner/GC/Design Team issues
  • GC/Subcontractor issues
  • Subcontractor/Vendor issues
  • Changes
  • Liens

URMe offers hourly mediation services to meet your project’s needs.

URMe hourly mediation services:

  • An initial retainer includes five (5) hours of the Mediator’s time and a one time administrative fee, which must be paid prior to the commencement of any services
  • If additional time is required, a supplemental five (5) hour retainer must be paid prior to scheduling further mediation sessions
  • If less time is utilized, any remaining funds will be refunded

URMe encourages mediation participants to share costs equally; however, other arrangements can be made, as agreed by the participants. URMe requires a Fee Agreement, Confidentiality Agreement, Client Consent and Disclosure signed by all parties and payment prior to the commencement of any services.

URMe does not provide legal and/or tax advice to mediation participants. We strongly recommend that each participant consult privately with advisors of his/her choosing for independent legal and/or tax advice. Upon request, URMe can provide clients with a list of Attorneys and/or tax advisors for independent consultations.
