Resolutions Mediation, Inc’s (URMe) mission is to empower
individuals and organizations in conflict to control their own
destiny by resolving differences through problem solving and
relationship building.

Dr.
Beverly M. Owens holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Management
with a concentration in Mediation. She is a co-founder of URMe and
has been a Mediator in private practice for over ten years serving
a nationwide clientele, including the United States Postal Service.
Prior to that time she spent thirteen years in Marketing for IBM
Corporation and six years as a small business owner. Her
philosophy about business and personal relationships centers around
productive communication, which occurs when actions mirror words. Clients
view Dr. Owens as a competent, caring professional who has the ability
to bring others to realize productivity and profitability are natural
by-products of good human interaction and cooperative behavior.
This determines whether individuals and organizations become life’s
casualties or survivors. |
Michelle
J. Perkins, Esq. is a co-founder and the managing partner
of URMe and a co-founder and the managing partner of the law firm
of Owens & Perkins, P.C. Ms. Perkins has been in private practice
since her graduation from the Arizona State University College of
Law in 1994. URMe and Owens & Perkins are general practice firms
providing services to individuals, families and businesses. She
also serves as an Arbitrator and Judge Pro Tempore for the Superior
Court and Arbitrator for the State Bar of Arizona Committee on Fee
Disputes. In her litigation practice, Ms. Perkins sees first hand
the negative impact litigation has on the parties. “URMe was
created to make a lasting contribution to society that will forever
change the adversarial way disputes are processed, managed and resolved.” |
Alona
M. Gottfried, Esq. is a Mediator for URMe and an Attorney
with the law firm of Owens & Perkins, P.C. She is an experienced
professional, facilitating resolutions to conflict. Ms. Gottfried
has served as an executive officer of the Arizona Dispute Resolution
Association and is trained in Collaborative Divorce Law. A native
of Arizona, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology
from Arizona State University (Summa Cum Laude; Phi Beta Kappa)
and her law degree from the College of Law at Arizona State University
(Cum Laude). She has received advanced mediation training at Pepperdine
School of Law’s prestigious Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution,
and has taught mediation to new and experienced Mediators across
the state. Ms. Gottfried has practiced family and employment law
for over ten years. |
Lisa
York brings a uniqueness to the resolution of your dispute
with over sixteen years experience in the construction industry.
She has worked in four different states as a Project Manager for
general contractors. Her expertise includes working with owners,
design teams, and subcontractors to solve building challenges during
the design, preconstruction and construction phases of a project.
Ms. York’s hands on experience and understanding of the complexities
of construction schedules, contracts, cost, and quality gives her
the ability to understand the issues of the dispute which result
in a fair and equitable resolution. Owners and subcontractors most
often compliment Ms. York for being fair and dealing only with the
facts. |

Judie
Shaffer brings solid background of success to URMe. Her
accomplishments include several awards for the Residency Program
and the Medical Student Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
For the Medical Student Program she received the Clinical Support
Staff of the Year for the University of Arizona College of Medicine
three years in a row – the maximum number of times one is
eligible to receive it. Ms. Shaffer also received the Award for
the Outpatient Ancillary Staff Person of the Year for two years
as well as being nominated every year that she worked at Phoenix
Children’s Hospital/Maricopa Medical Center Pediatric Residency
Program. The awards reflect the numerous people Ms. Shaffer helped
each year. At URMe Ms. Shaffer’s desire is to continue to
be of service. She assists in any way possible to help you through
the mediation process.

Lynn
K. Edington
brings over twenty years experience in marketing, business
ownership and business development. She was one of the first women
in Orange County, CA to own and operate an asphalt company. After
moving to Phoenix in 1995 she opened a training center working with
various governmental agencies. Her program was spotlighted on local
news networks and she received recognition from the State of AZ
and The City of Phoenix. Lynn has worked for the last four years
as a small business consultant advising clients with regard to business
vulnerabilities and marketing. She has also lent her expertise as
an employment expert to the local news. |
